June 2012 Athlete of the Month
45-year-old Chris Mygatt thinks of himself as an everyday athlete. Like so many others, he juggles the responsibilities of a demanding job, a loving family, volunteer commitments and an active social life while also keeping up his health and strength through exercise. Each day is a challenge to meet the needs of all these important areas of life, and Chris has developed a plan to fit it all in — every day. During the colder winter months Chris and his family enjoy skiing on a regular basis to keep their hearts pumping and their minds clear. They love to explore all the beautiful ski areas throughout Colorado. Additionally, from March to September Chris rides his bicycle as much as possible. The practical approach of combining commuter rides from home to work and longer weekend thrill rides allow him to build his strength and endurance for two major cycling events he participates in every year: The Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride and the Ride the Range. Both are long distance rides designed to explore the varied landscapes and neighborhoods across the Metro area. This Athlete finds cycling to be calming to the soul, invigorating to the mind, and just plain fun!
