February 2012 Athlete of the Month
14-year-old Walker Finch found his true love, BMX Racing, at the age of 7. He became a local favorite and a State Champion by the age of 10. At that time he made the move to National racing, and this year he became a 2-time Grand National Champion, #1 National Age Group Rider, 3-time Top Ten National Rider and the 2011 USAC National Champion.
He was invited to attend the Junior Development Olympic BMX Camps at the Olympic Training Facility in California and finished in the top three. Walker aims to win as many titles as he can as an Amateur Athlete and hopes to attend the Olympics in 2016. He trains off the track 3 days a week and on the track another 3 days, while attending Poudre High School. Walker shares his passion of racing, the importance of a healthy diet, good sleep, and being safe on and off the track with others at race clinics and soon at school assemblies.
